Lisk is a Layer 2 solution built on the OP Stack, designed to provide scalable and cost-efficient blockchain infrastructure. Originally a Layer 1 blockchain, Lisk transitioned to a Layer 2 model to leverage Ethereum's security and enhance its capabilities. The network aims to solve local problems in emerging markets by focusing on real-world assets (RWA), off-chain assets (OCA), and decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN).
Technology:
Lisk is powered by the OP Stack and built on Gelato's Rollup as a Service platform. This allows Lisk to achieve high scalability and low transaction costs while maintaining security through Ethereum.
Governance:
Currently, the network is managed by the Lisk Foundation, with plans to introduce a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) that will allow token holders to participate in decision-making processes.
