Optimism and the Scout Game are teaming up to invite developers to contribute to the Supersim repository. Supersim is an open-source tool that simulates the Superchain environment locally. Supersim simplifies multichain development, allowing builders to spin up nodes and test cross-chain applications with a single command. By contributing to the Supersim repo, you can earn $OP rewards while building tools to benefit the entire ecosystem.
Here’s how you can earn:
As of today, there’s going to be over 15,000 OP reward pool available for developers. To start contributing, join the Supersim Telegram group, where more updates and opportunities will be shared.
The Superseed Foundation have announced The Superseed Supersale, an open early investment opportunity ahead of Superseed’s mainnet launch, designed to empower onchain individuals. With a focus on equal access, community-first distribution, and fully unlocked tokens at TGE, the sale aims to ensure broad participation. Superseed's tokenomics use the Superseed token as "Supercollateral," channeling protocol profits back to support and reward users. ERC-7802 is a new token standard proposed by OP Labs, DeFi Wonderland and Uniswap aiming to improve cross-chain functionality with two core design principles: Bridge Agnosticism and Extensibility.
It separates token logic from bridge complexities, keeping contracts simple and secure. This allows tokens to work seamlessly with various bridge models, like lock/unlock or burn/mint, without modifications. The extensible design also lets developers add features, such as mint/burn limits, easily. ERC-7802 aims to unify chains with a flexible, community-driven standard, reducing developer friction across Ethereum. Look into the proposal here and share your thoughts
The Ethernity DAO is a community-driven organization empowering members to shape the future of Ethernity. By participating in governance, community members can vote on key initiatives that guide Ethernity’s growth and evolution. With a focus on decentralization and engagement, the DAO enables contributors to support Ethernity’s vision as a leading force in the blockchain-based entertainment industry.
The Ethernity DAO has a major live proposal to rebrand and perform a 1:100 token swap for ERN, transforming Ethernity from an NFT marketplace to a Layer 2 entertainment-focused blockchain within the Optimism Superchain. This proposal aims to boost Ethernity’s position through a 15% token supply increase, enhancing market accessibility, liquidity, and incentives for growth. Community members can review, discuss, and vote on this pivotal step for Ethernity’s future. Read the full proposal here.
Carl Cervone, an Optimism Collective contributor and citizen, recently shared insights from two years of Retroactive Public Goods Funding (Retro Funding). He noted that in 2023, large-scale funding rounds often turned into popularity contests, while annual rounds in 2024 provided feedback too slowly.
Carl suggests that in 2025, Optimism should focus on fewer domains, iterate more rapidly, and refine successful strategies. He also emphasized the need to balance metrics-based evaluations with expert assessments to enhance the funding process. Additionally, Carl highlighted the importance of developing effective methods to measure the success of Retro Funding itself. Read his full learnings here.
