Foundation Missions are grant-funded initiatives that tackle specific technical and ecosystem challenges aligned with the Season 7 Intent. These pre-defined missions ensure direct, actionable contributions to the Superchain’s interoperability and adoption.

How It Works

• Optimism Foundation sets the missions: Each mission is clearly scoped and designed to be completed within 12 months.
• Developers and teams apply via GitHub, submitting proposals based on mission objectives.
• The Developer Advisory Board selects projects, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with the Season 7 Intent.
• Funding is distributed based on milestones, with impact measured at the end of the Season.

Each Foundation Mission has its own eligibility criteria, detailed in its GitHub issue. Applicants should have relevant technical expertise and a proven track record in building on Optimism or related ecosystems.
