The Season 7 Governance Fund Missions, managed by the Optimism Grants Council, provide 10.5M OP in funding to support projects that drive onchain growth across the Superchain. The program funds initiatives that align with Optimism’s key success metrics, including TVL growth, stablecoin adoption, and cross-chain asset flows.

Season 7 success metrics

The primary focus of Season 7 is to increase the overall adoption and usage of onchain assets by funding projects that contribute to:

• Increasing Total Value Locked (TVL) in ETH
• Expanding stablecoin TVL across the Superchain
• Growing wrapped and bridged asset TVL

How does the process work?

The grant selection process runs on a three-week review cycle, with the final application deadline on May 20, 2025.

1. Submission (Week 0): Projects submit an application aligned with Season 7 priorities.
2. Initial Review (Week 1): Grants Council reviews applications for completeness and eligibility.
3. Final Review (Weeks 2 & 3): Approved projects undergo a detailed assessment. Some may require clarifications before final approval.

At the end of each cycle, approved projects receive OP funding, with milestones tracked before full disbursement.
